A little giving and a little Receiving

21 08 2008

I spent dinner tonight with a girlfriend from way back in highschool. We only recently got in touch after quite a few years, and I am finding that we have picked up just where we left off. Although our lives have both changed and gone in completely opposite directions, we still have a common bond. Friends forever, just like we always said we would be.

Before dinner I stopped off at a home store and picked up a set of chrome wine corks. I had noticed yesterday that she was having trouble getting the original cork back into the bottle, and figured she could use a set.
***Necessities for your home include:

- Wine glasses
- Wine cooler
- Blender
- Cute swizzle sticks
- Alcohol to suit

No house should ever be without a bar! (or something that could resemble a place where you keep a lot of liquor.) It looks like I will be trying to make up for missed gifts for her wedding, house warming, birthdays, anniversaries, and pretty much any other occasion I can buy gifts for.
We had a great time catching up on the past, and learning about eachother’s current lives. She’s married to a wonderful man, finished her degree a while back and is now an elementary school teacher.
And as we all know, I have gone in the completely opposite direction. Maybe one day I’ll end up with a little fairytale life, but for now I’m quite content.

After dinner I went home, got ready and met a client for a few drinks and a quick romp. Nothing too spectacular, but this particular client always brings me some sort of personalized and well thought out gift from his travels. This time he was away for 4 weeks in Europe, and brought me gifts from three different countries. From Italy he brought me a beautiful fur stole. From Paris, a classic chanel handbag. From Switzerland, a stunning time piece with a few small diamonds encrusted around the edge. All three seem to be so elaborate compared to anything he has ever brought me before. I am flattered that he thought of me while he was away and even more so that he would be so kind to buy such lavish gifts.

I enjoyed every moment of it. Perhaps he should go away more often. The sex is much better when you haven’t seen them for a while. It’s like starting fresh again. Wild.
